Dental Sedation
What is Dental Sedation?
Dental sedation can be used to make patients more comfortable during long or complex dental procedures. It can also be used during routine dental procedures to help calm dental anxiety. Our dentists can help you decide whether dental sedation is right for you.
Providing Support & Reassurance for Anxious Patients
At LifeSmiles Dental, we do what we can to make patients feel relaxed and at ease during their dental appointments. In addition to sedation, we will work at your pace, take breaks, and provide calm reassurance as needed.
We understand that dental procedures can be anxiety-inducing for some people, which is why we prioritize creating a calming and supportive environment throughout your visit.
Oral Sedation
Oral sedatives are pills or liquids that your dentist prescribes. The medication is administered orally before a dental appointment. It keeps you awake during the procedure but has a calming effect that significantly relaxes you.
Nitrous Oxide (Laughing Gas)
Nitrous oxide is inhaled through the mouth and nose. It provides a calming effect but allows you to maintain communication with your dentist. It also reduces gag reflexes, raises pain thresholds and can make time seem to fly by.
Nitrous oxide is available at our Grant Park Mall location.
